Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Effective immediately, the Colorado Muslim Society (CMS)/Mesjid Abu Bakr, will close until further notice due to a confirmed COVID case that may have attended the mesjid. Please note, there is no confirmation that this individual contracted COVID from CMS and we continue to follow strict guidelines put forth by the Tri-County Health Department and the Governor’s Office.

This is just a precautionary measure. This individual has not attended the mesjid in nine days and has been self-quarantining with his family. Still, official CMS leadership takes this very seriously. Therefore, we have made the decision that it is in the best interest of our community and neighbors that we follow Tri-County Health Department and State guidelines. Leadership has already been in contact with the Tri-County Health Department who are helping manage the guidelines and next steps during this process.

We will continue to update the community once reopening guidelines are in place over the coming days
and weeks.

CMS leadership would like to continue to remind the community to only follow information regarding CMS that is released by designated and sanctioned CMS leadership through official CMS channels – i.e. the CMS website, Shura, Executive Committee, staff, and official social media. You may find a list of these individuals who may speak on behalf of the Colorado Muslim Society/Mesjid Abu Bakr below. Please bring any questions, comments, or concerns directly to designated leadership only.

Warm Regards,
